Polpeo – Social Media Simulations

The social media simulation company Polpeo asked to make their marketing video explaining what it is that they do.
Polpeo creates and simulates a realistic fictional crisis for your brand to manage on social media.
With proprietary software and specialist social media managers, Polpeo simulates any brand crisis, situation or social media experience. It is the closest thing to managing a live, breaking situation on social media, but in a private and safe environment. Powerful lessons are learned and invaluable experience gained, to protect and defend your brand in the real world.

Groundwork Camden Gardening Project

Our film aims to tell the story of this London community gardening project and the lives of the residents it has changed.
Groundwork London have been working with residents on a number London Borough of Camden’s housing estates and parks since 2012. Over the last 2 years we’ve been actively supporting eight gardening groups working closely alongside the residents associations and groups including Clarence Way, Castle Road, Ingestre Estate, Ampthill Estate, The Zad Foundation, Regents Park Gardening Club and Castlehaven Community Centre.

Bethnal Green Academy – The Summer of 2014

Bethnal Green Academy asked us to make a film following some of the students from year 11 and year 13 in the run up to their all important exam results. Along the way we found out their stories and had the biggest influence in their school lives.

SEAP – What is Advocacy?

The organisation SEAP asked us to make a film to help people better understand their advocacy service, and how it may be able to help people.
SEAP provide independent advocacy services to help resolve issues or concerns you may have about your health and well-being or your health and social care services.
SEAP Advocacy is able to support the most vulnerable people in society, including those that do not have the capacity to instruct SEAP and people from marginalised communities who struggle to have their views and wishes listened to and heard.

Marketers and agency leaders talk about their biggest media challenges. Media fragmentation and understanding the complex consumer journey are among the biggest challenges facing marketers and media planners today, according to judges for the Newsworks Planning Awards 2014.

Cenpower Power Station – Ghana

Annual peak demand for electricity in Ghana grew 12% in 2012 -2013. This has resulted in rationing of power across the country. The Cenpower project is the financing of a major power station in Ghana
This project in Ghana will create a power plant in the municipality of Kpone within the Tema industrial zone. The project will provide urgently needed low cost, reliable and efficient thermal power to the deregulated Ghanaian power market. Project construction is expected to begin in the second half of 2014 and commercial operations are expected to begin in 2016.

Shift North Highlights

Newsworks’ first northern conference, Shift North, brought together the latest thinking, trends and insight from the national newspaper industry.

Transform Edible East

Transform Edible East is a project run by Groundwork London to transform 20 disused built-up urban areas to create food growing sites across 6 East London boroughs. We met the gardeners and residents involved to find out about their struggles, successes and achievements. Our short film shot across 5 sites shows the diversity of involvement and the legacy it will have for those involved.

Equal Experts Associates Conference 2013 – Highlights

We were tasked with building something fast paced to showcase the Equal Experts team from their associates conference the previous year. We had a mixture of stills and video footage to play with. Starting with the idea of a matrix that we could navigate around, we decided to play with black and white as a baseline moving to colour for emphasis to draw the eye. We then carefully calculated correct speeds for each move to sit with the rhythm of the track and to highlight each of the team members.

Bethnal Green Academy – Little Love Mix

Little Love Mix is a heartfelt message sung by and featuring students at Bethnal Green Academy. All money raised from sales of the DVD will go to the victims of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines.

News On The Tweet – Highlights

News on the Tweet media event presents Newsworks’ new research which shows symbiotic relationship between Twitter and newsbrands. We we were commissioned to record the event and to create a film of the highlights which included presentations by Nick Sutton of Radio 4, Tomorrow’s News Today fame and Eleanor Mills, Editorial Director of The Sunday Times.

Equal Experts – Teen Tech

Equal Experts teamed up with TeenTech to teach 480 teenagers from 40 schools to teach them about programming. Here’s what happened.

Newsworks – Judgement Day

Our commission was to make a fun, fast paced and engaging piece about Judgment Day, for the first Newsworks Planning Awards 2013. The film was to showcase the excitement and comment from the judges to be played at the Groucho Club as a prequel to the award announcements. All 17 judges congregated at 120 Charing Cross Road, Newsworks HQ to debate the merits of the entrants for this inaugural media industry awards. We used After Effects to create a fun effect for each of the judges.

Titles Intro – Golden Service Awards

We were asked to create a build up sequence to be played at the start of the Golden Service Awards, which celebrates the best of the cleaning industry across the UK. After talking through the image and style of the awards with our client, we storyboarded an idea of creating a intro in line with the event being in London City at night. Coupled with an inspirational audio track we included all 70 logos of the nominees for inclusivity.

The Summer Of Dreams 2013 – Bethnal Green Academy

The Summer of Dreams was created for Bethnal Green Academy in the wake of their “Outstanding in all areas” status, awarded by Ofsted. What are the drivers of an outstanding school ? What makes it tick? These were the underlying concepts of our film. Valued in equal measure is the individual alongside the continual drive for results. The film portrays the approach to learning by both staff and pupils and the anxiety and excitement on the all important results day.


Natural Voices – The Feel Good, Grass Roots Choir

Our film promos a gorgeous, grass roots North London choir with a super leading lady, Lizzy Renihan. You can’t help but smile and tap your foot along to their brilliantly quirky, tongue in cheek, re-vamps of old classics and big hits. We set out to make a film that embodies their infectious feeling.


Petrol Causes Pollution – Stop Motion

Educationally we have been involved in an air pollution project, which is rolling out across Waltham Forest and Haringey Boroughs, creating Stop-Motion projects with 7-9 years olds. They came up with some brilliant ideas and we were amazed with what they achieved in a couple of hours. This Stop Motion produced with Roger Ascham Primary School contains more than 400 still images!


Enterprising East Project 2013

Enterprising East is a partnership project between Groundwork London and London Legacy Development Corporation. The project partners 4 school with 4 business mentors tasking them to come up with an idea to attract young people into the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. In a Dragon’s Den style finale the ideas are presented with £5000 investment at stake to make the project a reality.


Don’t Be A Driver – Stop Motion

From the same air pollution project as our “Petrol Causes Pollution” video, comes this cool Stop Motion video produced with the creative minds of Edinburgh Primary School containing more than 200 still images!


A Day In Our Lives – Bethnal Green Academy

In 2005 BGA was placed under special measures and was considered to be a failing inner city London school. Shortly after we filmed this in November 2012, Ofsted judged the school to be ‘Outstanding’ in all areas. Congratulations to all at BGA.

It was a super fun project to work on and thank you to all the staff and pupils who helped to make it happen.

Transform London 2012

Transform is an on going project aimed to transform derelict or run down land surrounding the Olympic Park. Community areas have been transformed to create allotments, gardens and playgrounds.

Partners involved in the project are London in Bloom, Thames 21, London Wildlife Trust & Groundwork London
and it is funded by London 2012, London Sustainability Exchange, DEFRA, SITA Trust, & City Of London.

We made this film in August 2012 for Groundwork London to promote the project and encourage more residents to get involved.

The project is on target to transform 70 sites by 2014.
